I usually send a Pixieset gallery of the images with downloads turned off and let them know that you will turn on download capability once final payment is received.

Write specific language into YOUR contract, & this will never be a question.

No photo products or digital images can be delivered until full payment has been made.

They failed on the contract, not delivering till I’m paid in full in cash , no credit card that will be disputed later

50% deposit. 50% the day before the shoot. If the job isn’t paid in full I don’t show up and I keep the deposit.

No payment no pictures. All my clients pay the deposit the day they book and then pay the remaining the day of shoot so that way once I finish the shoot the money is already locked in prior to me starting the editing.

Send obnoxiously watermarked photos along with a reminder of the balance due.

“Unfortunately, I am unable to deliver the digital images, without the remainder of your balance being paid. Per our contract, the deposit ensures that I show up when and where we agree upon, and complete the photoshoot, as promised. Likewise, the balance ensures that I complete the editing process and delivery.”

Refer them to contract which states payment in full before delivery and send balance of invoice.
