If you are referring to the plot point taken from Resurrection; I think Weyland Yutani wanting more adaptable workers who don’t need to be replaced at high cost is a better justification than Resurection’s story.

completely agree was really enjoying the film ignoring some minor quibbles then the last 20 minutes really didn't work for me , like you said was dumb when it was tried before and just as dumb now, still an enjoyable film though overall
