Minor epiphany today while throwing in laundry - we didn’t raise our daughters to be nice, we emphasized curiosity, fairness, kindness, compassion, and doing the *right* thing vs. the easy thing, to be respectful when it’s deserved. We showed them how to recognize injustice and to work to fix what they see as wrong in their communities. To admit when they’re wrong and to be responsible. They’re turning out okay, not perfect, but we’re all works in progress.
