The Bible specifying Isaac carrying the wood up the mountain hit me deep the other night. Abraham was sacrificing the very blessing God promised him. The thing he desired the most was literally baring the load of obedience. Even though he knew he was going to offer Isaac, he told the servants they were going up the mountain to “worship”, and they’d both be back. The amount of faith and confidence he had gave me chills.
