Mislabeling extended and “add” chords makes my eye twitch. Provolone and asiago are both cheeses but the flavors and use are different, that’s why they have different names.
A few examples where people get mixed up:
C E G Bb D = C9
C E G D = C(add2)
C Eb G Bb F = Cm11
C Eb G F = Cm(add4)
People often think using “9” or “13” instead of 2 or 6 means the note is voiced in a higher octave than the root, but this is basically wrong. It’s the presence of a 7th that makes the difference.
