I wonder if you'd be interested in the work of Leela Corman who just published a new graphic -- I'm not sure what to call it! It's a novel, but it's historically situated, so it has nonfiction qualities. Her Unterzakhn is wonderful. Elizabeth Rush's The Quickening, out last year (her last book was nominated for the Pulitzer). Or Grace Talusan's The Body Papers, about immigrating from the Philippines and family trauma, a couple of years old but so good. Paula Rámon's Motherland -- amazing, too!
