So called supermoons have always happened. They aren't rare, and never used to be much noticed or commented on. They are little more than clickbait promoted by a media obsessed with viewer / reader engagement and Instagram photos. It's nice that people are given reason to look up from their phones of course., and science is a good thing indeed.
