It might be the distribution company you are using and also if they are listing you as a business or just an artist

Hmmm... Spotify pays much less than other platforms, but based on the numbers, I earn (and you should too) around $180 to $260 from 60,000 streams. Hope this helps!

It’s probably coz the streams are from users who are from a country where premium subscription is cheap. A stream from US/UK pays more than a stream from let’s say Zambia.

Nobody in music makes money out of Spotify in 2024 😊

It is an old battle between artists and record companies. It was already a significant issue during the CD era, but it has only intensified in the digital age. How can anyone thrive without the catalogs of the three giants—Universal, Sony, and Warner? So they manage to get all the money!

They pay less if it’s free subscribers that listen, and even less if the listeners are in low income countries (because the pro plan is cheaper in those countries, and the ad revenue is less). Can it be the case for you?

Is this money from your PRO or your distributer? Your distributer should be paying out around 200 unless they take a cut. Your PRO will pay out way less. And if there’s other people on the song, they get a cut too.

No money with Spotify for 80% of musicians...You do get "exposure" but no real money. Today, you need to sell songs/albums and play live in venues that matter. Requires strong marketing. All the best.
