I remember, too. I first saw Obama in 2007 in Oakland, California on an early campaign swing, watching him from no more than twenty or thirty feet away. The next time was at his inauguration in Washington, DC in January 2009. I definitely wasn’t twenty or thirty feet away. I was standing in crowds well behind the Washington Monument.
