Why is it so hard to understand the one person standing in the way of progress and peace is Netanyahu? Israel is being torn apart because of his insistence on backing the most extremist elements in the country — to keep himself out of prison. Even his conservative Defense Minister stands against him. Netanyahu will not bend to any pressure. And the U.S. cannot entirely abandon support of the only democracy in the region. No matter how flawed and messed up it is.
