You hired him as an employee. Employees should always have the right to use a restroom. So yes your wrong for not letting your employee use the restroom on their shift.

Not an employee. An independent contractor. Very different. An employer has control over an employee. The independent contractor is not CONTROLLED by the person that hires the contractor. An employee cannot jump in the car and go to McDonald’s to use the restroom and be back whenever the employee decides. The independent contractor does have that ability. Because they work for themselves. I’m not saying whether it’s moral or right or wrong. Just that it’s a MUCH different situation.
