I'm not saying The Acolyte was great, but I have a lot of memories of shows that ran for twice as many episodes in their first season and still weren't great for a while. There's a reason "it doesn't get good till season 3" is a thing. Eight 30 minute episodes is a director's cut of a movie. Canceling shows like Acolyte and Willow and Dark Crystal doesn't really let a show get it's legs and the studio will have learned nothing.
