FWIW I think it's great. With social media making artists/celebrities more accessible, and more importantly the rise of social media being a major pipeline to fame, there's a pressure to be "devoted to" fans and "personal with" fans and a precedent that you owe YOURSELF PERSONALLY *to* fans in order to "make it". Artists can't possibly maintain personal relationships with each individual fan. So no fan should expect a personal relationship with an artist. Enjoy music and respect boundaries!
