Sounds like a scam. I would recommend reaching out to a Realtor in your area to confirm if the home is listed for rent-or at least verify the info of the owner.

Depends on where you are located and is it a showing fee or a deposit? Here in Texas as of last week we are obligated to have buyer/tenant representation to just simply show a property and some brokers require mandatory showing fees. This went into effect the on 8/17 I believe . It’s really disappointing to a lot of us
