The first time I saw Marty perform, he was fronting @ebonytusks at a show with @listenerfamilyband. Marty's call-and-response interactions with his audience immediately invoked familiar feelings. After the show, I sent him Jesus Keep Us Safe From The Cops, and we became fast friends, bonding over a love for the urgency of old gospel records. Since then, I have witnessed and experienced his kindness repeatedly.
