Being in tech so far all I’ve learned is being mixed, lesbian and masculine presenting is genuinely off putting to people. I don’t want to change myself but I don’t want to make others uncomfortable. Any advice?

In this situation I just think folks are going to have to be uncomfortable. It’s more about them than you and hopefully they will take the time to learn and think differently about the world around them. Continue to shine and be you and talk your shit.

I am a cloud engineer. Be you and don’t change to fit a social norm. Trust me I get it I have neck tattoos and masculine presenting and have to give 110% to gain their trust daily.

I am and I work at a hospital. Let it be off putting. It's okay. You only get one, live your life 😎

Be unapologetically you! It’s all you can be. Be considerate of others and be the best version of yourself but you aren’t going to be able to please everyone, so just be a good person authentically. That’s how you find your people anyways 🫶🏻

I understand this, but I urge you to be who you are regardless. Unfortunately with work we sometimes have to be open to people who aren’t open to us (initially). As a masc named Vivian with a great corp white woman voice, I understand the sticker shock lol but I’ve made good friendships by being open and continuing to network when it was at first uncomfortable.

just keep hopping around until you find a welcoming team. look up "pet to threat" it’s real, so you might not notice it at first. even in weird environments, you'll find people with good vibes. connect with them on a human level. they could be future colleagues or great friends to talk career with. don't listen to feedback from those treating you like an outsider. they usually try to make you doubt yourself even if you're good. seek mentors and trustworthy peers for that.
