Is it even incremental progress, though? Or is it rather that liberals and centrists want to absolve themselves of blame for our state of affairs by repeatedly choosing the “lesser evil”, even as the greater evil (the American imperialist war machine) rampages unchecked? And thus actually not being for any meaningful definition of progress themselves?
