Mamas, what's your take on vaccines? We have an 11-week old who is not yet vaccinated. momthreads

I would say Don’t do it ! But in reality Just make an educated decision. Do what works better for you and your family.

My daughter is vaccinated because I work in a hospital and I don’t want to be the person to subject her to something her body might not be able to fight aswell as mine so I’m giving her the chance to be healthy. I know people have their reasons not too and that’s fine - but modern medicine is advancing everyday and I truly believe we are living in a world where the risks of complications of a vaccine are lower than risks associated with illness.

We don’t. Third is entirely un. Second. Not past 4 months. (Adverse reaction that led to the decision) first stopped at 18 months.

Vaccinations are very important as new little babies. It helps them build an immune system for illnesses that could be worse without the shots. I personally hate needles and choose to not get shots for myself, but my daughter will get them no matter what. They could be at risk for illness that could be avoided with a vaccine, but they also pose an exposure risk for other children and can get others sick more easily if not vaccinated.

I don't want people to come at me but ours is 6 months, hasn't vaccinated at all yet and hasn't got sick even once. Even during cold/flu season when my entire family got sick. (He was born in January) My brother's kids get sick constantlyyy and they're all vaccinated. 🤷♀️ Idk, makes me wonder! He's also exclusively breastfed til now which plays a large role.

Wait until they are 2 years or older. They need to build their own immune systems before we start putting stuff in their bodies.

Polio, measles, TB, meningococcal etc go for it. Anything that can be life threatening, I say go for it. Something that can make a disease be lighter, like the flu, I don’t really give it to my girls. I have seen they still get it and I don’t see a big difference, unless your child is inmunocompromised.

Vaccines outweigh the risk of having serious diseases rather than it’s “side effect” from the internet. E.g it is almost erradicating the Polio disease from 3rd world country.

Pro vaccine minus the Covid or flu one for the baby. I trust the science and our pediatrician.
