American history X is the answer. Lot of answers in the comments describe grotesque and visually brutal scenes (Game of thrones, horror films etc) But the scene in AHX never shows the scene. Yet it STILL lives in my head above all else. From only sound and anticipation. Also rooted in reality so it feels even more real. Fantastic film making Shivers just writing about it
