I know content is king and all that but it's important to respect our client's right to share content when they are ready , especially when they explicitly outline this before the day. It's THEIR moment ,we need to stop treating it just another content opportunity for us. This incessant need to rush content out is frustrating , some clients want to wait for their pro imagery ( rightfully so) and also have the time to just take it all in and reflect on their day. (1)

However we've had instances recently that have really left a sour taste where 3rd parties are sharing content even before clients have seen it and that is NO from me and not how I wish to work.

I almost succumbed to it but I’m not willing to sacrifice the time and care I spend on each photograph to just get it out the door. I also had a vendor follow me around with their phone then sent every photo to the bride the next day. I’m hacked off and they don’t seem to even understand why!

I had a makeup artist get visibly and verbally upset with a bride who didn’t want to be on social media, the makeup artist wanted to do a reel. It felt very odd and awkward, she pushed the point with the bride several times. I was there taking photos and knew we couldn’t share but I’m there for the couple not my own marketing! I get we need content but Some suppliers forget it’s not about content - it’s an actual wedding!!
