Gen x - I don't rent my music collection, I buy physical. Artists receives more money this way. Bandcamp is the best, download and physical, plus on Bandcamp Fridays the artists receive 100% of the sale. Would Spotify do this? No chance.

I left initially because i gave up on waiting for HiFi. I switched to Tidal, and i love it. The UI is amazing, a really good team of devs, we get weekly updates, constantly changing and improving. Spotify somehow seems to get worse with each update, like where tf is everything?? I hate how they’re just constantly begging for us to get earworms. Like why are you pushing so much popular stuff, in the playlists, artists compilations and homepage. I just wanna listen to fking music!

They pay artists less than a 3rd of the next highest competitor per stream, they’re WAY behind in audio quality for NO reason, their CEO was investing millions in Defense Contracting (AKA funding empire and genocide), AND their shuffle algo SUCKS
