The first conventions I watched were in 1960. I've watched at least some part of the Dems every year since. I cannot stress enough the incredible development from white men broadcasting images of white men in suits and ties and a few women to today. In 1960 Dems refused to seat a segregated Mississippi delegation and kept the all-white delegation chosen only by white voters. (LBJ bowed to southern states.)
