I don’t have advice for this guy on compensation, but wanted to say for others’ sakes: if your work doesn’t provide a cell phone, DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR PERSONAL NUMBER FOR WORK. Set up a dummy-number through Google Voice—you can even send texts through the Google Voice app.
