It is difficult to find a performance in which one can feel the 'weight of the value of one note' as much as this. His playing has changed since he found out he was ill. I love this playing. He was always a man who valued notes, but in his later years, his tempo slowed down considerably and it became clear that he really put love into every note he played. He was genuinely happy to still be able to play. I hope you will listen to the sound alone.
