The Nigerian Navy is mourning the loss of its personnel, Lieutenant Commander Gideon Yashim Gwaza who lost his life while leading a rescue operation to save 59 crew members from a sinking dredging vessel in Rivers State. He accidentally fell overboard during the rescue operation which lasted for approximately 10 hours, from midnight on July 29 to 30, 2024. The crew members were eventually saved but he paid the ultimate price...... #humanitarian
