"It's funny that it took me a long time to learn that most things aren't black and white, but everything is on a spectrum. A nice person can indeed surprise us by being the rudest one on their bad day. A criminal who steals can still despise a criminal who kills. No one is perfect. Just treat people with as much compassion as you hope someone will give you, for as long as you can. Then whether they have the privilege of having you in their life or not is in their hands, not ours."
