Alien: Covenant is a mess but damn this opening scene is good. Fassbender, Pearce, Wagner, sleek cinematography, an interrogation of human evolution vs artificial intelligence and a mirroring of Jerry Goldsmith’s score. Love the subtle flick in Fassbender/David’s expression when he’s forced into the subservient role of bringing the tea.
