I don't get this "Costco crackdown" thing... I've never understood why you had to show your membership card at the door when entering either. You show it at the cashier, who can actually verify your identity with the photo before you can check out. Doesn't that stop non-members from shopping in the store?? You could borrow someone's card and fool the person or machine at the door, but that cashier should be able to catch you every time.
