9 out of 10 tomatoes grown in the nation come from the Sacramento Valley in Northern California. Every time you eat tomatoes in any form (whole, diced, sauce, paste), thank CA farmers.

I grew up a couple of miles from the Campbell soup plant. The freeway exit near there and every street corner where the trucks made turns were covered in tomatos this time of year!

Most come from Central Valley but are trucked up to Sacramento. Hence the nickname for the city ‘Sacotomatoes’.

And if you are canned tomatoes or bottled ketchup between 1976 and 1985 the product may have been made by your brother, Matt, or me! 😅
