This happened to me in 2018, after spending 26 days in the hospital after a su*c*de attempt, which resulted in a TIA (mini-stroke), and status epilepticus (non-stop seizures). I was put in a medically induced coma for 7 days, and had to relearn how to swallow, speak, walk etc. My extended family knew about my medical issues, they had come to see me in the hospital, but still, a couple months later I was praised for losing weight, even though I was still relearning how to eat
