Fun and useful Japanese expression without a good English equivalent:
三日坊主 (mikka bouzu)
Literally “three-day monk”:
Someone who declares the intention to learn a new skill or improve themselves in some way but gives up on it quickly (a classic example would be people who make New Year’s resolutions to diet and/or work out; I include myself in that group, to be clear!).
