Here’s how Fandango describes the movie: a romance. But I guess it’s all Lively’s responsibility to talk about DV? Not the studio, or the producers, or her male co-Star?

She’s an actress not a publicist or mental health advocate. She should be free to talk about (or not) whatever she wishes to. If a trigger warning for a movie was warranted it should have been added by the producers they have sole responsibility for ensuring the film meets its social responsibilities not the actress who’s job s to read the scripts.

It’s just a movie tho based off of a fictional book. Nobody has to hate her for promoting the movie wrong. You disliked the portrayal and that’s fine, but there are other things that can represent the discussion of domestic violence better than a bad movie take of a book that everyone started to hate eventually anyway.

It’s not her job, she’s an actress. Domestic violence isn’t the first difficult topic that’s ever been part of a film, would people say this if there was a murder in the film or addiction or a child dying or something? Why is it her job to become a solemnly faced advocate for it when she’s just playing a part. This is just another example of the media turning everyone against a famous woman once they decide she’s got too big for her boots.

As a survivor of severe DV, no, it isn't valid. She isn't obligated to do anything but play the part she was paid for, and then go on about her life however she chooses.

Why is she required to discuss anything? As a DV survivor, I am tired of celebrities using my trauma for popularity. I don't want anyone that doesn't have a real passion for ending it saying a word!

I think with her huge platform she has an obligation to use it to raise awareness and advocate. She's making money off a topic that's killed so many. And yes, I wholely support trigger warnings. If you don't feel you need or want one, fine. But you're not the only one who's experienced it so I think it's rude to speak for everyone.
