As a Pixel fan, I would know which device appeals to me more. But if you have been in one of the two ecosystems for years, my first advice is to think about how many of the apps you use every day have already cost you money and whether you are prepared to spend money on them again. For some, this already makes switching systems unnecessary. If that is not a hurdle for you, all I can say is: take a closer look at the new Pixels yourself. They are worth it.
