What’s to stop someone using that protocol to register someone else’s phone number or email for iMessage and start intercepting all their messages? Given the way they circumvent Apple’s auth for it, it’s unclear to me? Does anyone know how Apple avoids this and confirms the phone number? If it is a hole, it’s totally understandable that closing it is critical for Apple.
