I keep seeing thinkpieces about how tipping culture is out of control, but I think the cause-and-effect is a little backwards. We as a society didn't suddenly decide that more tipping should be happening. What happened was that more and more vendors switched to tablet-style POS systems, and that software just comes with a tipping option standard, so we're seeing the prompts a lot more. Am I wrong?
