It was never Twitter. Twitter became a breeding ground for celebrating the worst human behavior; but even though Elon somehow found a way to make it worse - it still wasn't just Twitter. What I've seen this app become just confirms it. The non-stop rewarding of divisive posts that separate rather than unite. The hyperpartisanship & tribalism of "us vs them". The encouragement of echo chambers. Every app is destined to end this way. It was people all along.
