When single firing you need to choose your clay and glaze carefully. The organic materials in the clay burn out from 400c to 700c if I remember correctly and that stuff burning out can interact with your glaze and leave black spots or other stuff in your finished glaze. Just check by some test firings. It’s one of the reasons to bisque to around a 1000c
