The Gregorian calendar didn’t exist for Iron Age celts so they did not celebrate Beltane on 1 May - but it’s still a wonderful time to celebrate Beltane with most of the rest of the world today 🤩 ⁣ The Coligny calendar has the date of Bealltainn as the second new moon after the Spring Equinox ⁣and this year… that’s the 8th May. My preference! ⁣ The astrological date when the sun is around 9 degrees in Taurus: there’s no evidence the celts used this date but they might’ve! ⁣(4/5th May this year)
