So a hotel in Ibiza has asked to use one of my reels in their new campaign. I’m not a content creator, it’s not my job. I shot the random video while I was on holiday 18months ago and posted it on my page because I loved it. Did I tag them, yes. But i tag everywhere I go. But there still something niggling away at me that says no, I don’t what you to use my reel as free promotion for your hotel. Am I being silly and I should just say yes? Thoughts?

I’m a travel show host and creator, but also had a PR agency for over 10 years… asking for your content is a sign you’ve got creator skills and they want organic content. A sign to start doing more maybe ☺️

I have been starting to speak up about all the free work I do as a journalist who never gets paid (or even tagged or promoted or reshared) by the subjects I cover. Most companies will tag-brag the magazine I wrote for but not me. And yet they pay influencers to come and create the same content I do, reshare their work, amplifying their voice 50x. Writers need to be promoted (if not also paid for social content) too, since we know do 2 jobs.
