Out of curiosity, I checked out the iTunes Store (really needs a new name) for a movie that I couldn’t find there before. It happens now and then that the roster of movies does change now and then. Sure enough, “The Man Who Loved Women” was available (the ‘83 version starring Burt Reynolds and Julie Andrews). I bought it and am watching it as I type. I first saw this when I was 16 and something about it really struck a chord with me. Still does. (Continued)

He reaches a creative block and goes to a therapist to get to the root of the problem. The whole film takes place in flashback - it opens on his funeral. I won’t say more; don’t want to spoil it if you see it. It’s not great cinema, but I find it speaks to me. Blake Edwards directed. $13 buy/$5 rent on Apple, probably less on DVD at Amazon, you won’t find it on Blu-ray.
