April 29th is an important date in my life. It changed me forever, 4 years ago. There are many dates within the calendar year that we all carry mental scars from; whether it be the loss of a loved one, a traumatic event or a lesson learned. Going through an open heart surgery to have my aortic valve repaired and my aortic root replaced, not only made me physically stronger, but mentally as well. This traumatic event and procedure proved to me, that if I could get through that, I could get through anything.
