1/2 Gerrymandering is killing US Democracy: As someone who lives outside the US I’m amazed that people in the US seem to accept gerrymandering as “normal”. In other countries the idea that one party controls the boundaries doesn’t make sense. We have a bipartisan process that takes care of it and it’s done without much fuss. Having everyone’s vote given equal weight is part of “everyone is equal under the law” but not in the US. SCOTUS won’t take political gerrymandering cases.
