My elderly mother and I were on a walk last weekend. She needed to rest and so stopped to sit at a bench, already occupied by a young lady reading a book. I stood so as to have less intrusion. My mom and I were in full talk fest, mainly about my own children, who are in college, including one who participated in the protests. As soon as I mentioned the word “famine” the young woman snapped her book and stormed off. Only to later return and ask us if we knew of another bench. 1 of 2
