Anyone got tips on how to expose for the shadows consistently? I shoot 35mm film and regardless of how much I try to overexpose the film I get super dark shadows. Any tips would be helpful.

First you find any dirt and old tweets the shadows made 15 years ago, then you post screenshots to twitter calling them out, boom properly exposed

In the shots you are showing, you will either lose shadow detail or highlight detail depending on which you expose for. There is just too much contrast in those broad daylight photos for the exposure latitude of almost any film to stretch to. Not sure which film stock you are using here but Portra 160 would probably help a bit if you really want to try to max out the recorded detail in both directions in bright daylight. Otherwise, meter for the detail that is most important for you.
