On Canada Day I’m celebrating my northern roots. I grew up in a mining town N of the 54° parallel. Our summer nights are endless (the 2nd 📷 was taken at midnight). I grew up swimming in ice-cold lakes with friends enjoying the 3AM sunrise. Pickerel was dinner staple and bannock is still my go to comfort food. Most tourists never make it to my community unless they’re on a fishing expedition, but if you ever get the chance, I promise you’ll not soon forget the experience. happycanadaday 🇨🇦
