If you look at a paid pattern and feel inclined to say, “I could make that without a pattern, so no one should get to charge money for a design like that,” maybe consider that you are just not the target audience for that particular pattern? Not every pattern is going to be intended for you, specifically, as a customer; that doesn’t mean that a pattern you don’t need somehow has no value for anyone at all. Not everything is about you.
