planning to go Japan for a month next year but am not sure if i should go as a solo traveller… my main concern is probably if i would be lonely after days of travelling with no companions :(

Do it! I will be in japan in november for 6 weeks, second time doing a solotrip there. You will meet people there for sure!

I did a solo trip and I absolutely loved it. It took me months to sort of build up to doing it alone, but it's the best thing I've ever done. It does depend on you and your personality though, but at the same time it's the kind of country which is well built for being alone. There are some challenges. I think if you felt like you could do it, you'd be fine. Also, there are tours/groups you can book into with other travellers so you could meet people, but I just went full solo.

I did mine 10 days at first, but feels too short and doesn’t enough and the list of places I want to visit keep on getting longer, so I did a month. Best decision ever. You can go wherever you want, rest whenever you want, change itinerary whenever you want. 100% decision is yours. You won’t regret to go solo for sure. Don’t worry.

If you like people you may find the right crowd and fall in love with Japan. Research first and find the places you will enjoy. There is no time to do this as gov upon your arrival. There is just too much to do and too much to consider on arrival. I live here and could not give you a solid recommendation without really knowing what you like. Prepare and you could have the time of your life!

I did my first solo trip to Japan in my early 20s as a woman. It was so much fun. I found a subreddit to meet other Japan travelers and rarely had a day alone on my trip

If you can't enjoy your own company how can you be happy in the company of others?

I go to classes & meet people. But I’m also not one to feel lonely when I’m alone. I now have tons of friends in Japan from just meeting people at various events and activities.
