Tattooers- your client is an hour late, are you still charging for the extra hour or from when they arrive?

No charge for an extra hour but I might not be able to complete the tattoo that day. Completely depends on if they notify me & if I have to move other clients to make my day work. I might have to reschedule them & worst case take a new deposit. It just depends on the circumstances, usually it’s not the worst. Better than a no call no show. But I expect them to communicate with me beforehand/during. Luckily it’s pretty rare for my clients.

The amount of people saying to send another deposit for being 15-30 MINUTES late is absolutely insane to me. Or charging them for it? What happened to humility? Shit happens, client overslept? That’s ok it happens. Train is delayed? That’s cool I will wait. What’s with the hard implementation of your booking rules when it’s just a 15-30 minute wait? Maybe it’s my young ignorance but life happens. We’re no better than our clients. (This doesn’t count for repeat offenders).

I saw a TikTok the other day from an artist saying they hate when people are more than 10-15mins early and it’s made me anxious now because I often arrive 30mins or more early to ease my parking/ transport/ interruption anxiety about being late. So now I find myself just sitting outside on the curb to avoid upsetting the artist by being too early. 😫.

Yep. Unless it’s something genuinely valid. If I have the beans, I’ll stay an extra hour to make up for the time wasted.
