Aussies are the world's biggest fashion consumers, each buying more than one new piece of clothing every week. About 2/3 are made from synthetic fibres. 200,000 tonnes of clothes end up in our landfills every year. That’s a lot of non-biodegradable chemical waste. New legislation in France will see a $16 tax (€10) added to every piece of fast fashion sold & will ban the advertising of ultra-fast fashion, all to reduce the environmental impact of fast-fashion. Should Australia follow suit?
