I find it curious when men tell me how “right” I am for them. It’s almost always a man who sabotaged his connection for superficial reasons and now their loneliness and the consequences of their decisions are encroaching and somehow my being a “good friend,” or “an ideal woman” for them should come across as a compliment, warranting immediate restoration into my life. The irony is, I don’t hold the same reservations they have for me, for them and this is obvious amongst us.
